Show 3AYMAN KERR Winner Marathon IIUTAH THE "U" DAY MARATHON Running over an entirely new course, and against a heavy snowfall, Sayman Kerr was the easy winner, covering the distance of a little over three miles in eighteen minutes, ten seconds. The course this year extended from the front of the Administration Building, west to Thirteenth East street, south on Thirteenth to Yale avenue and return The other runners finished in the following order: Lynn Hales, Mickey Cannon, Saville Flowers and Earl Jones. TENNIS The net game got away to a late start this season like all the rest of the spring sports. The annual tournament was held, and some keen competition was experienced. Of last year's squad, Harold Bennett, is the only one to return to school. With such men as Fred Bergstrom, Mac Pyke and Floyd Romney in condition, another successful season in this activity is practically assured. "Ball One" "Strike One" SWIMMING Owing to the influenza ban being put on just as Swimming Coach Hollings was forming his team, this activity was among those missing this season. A number of last year's water artists were ready for action, and if it had not been for the "flu," the Crimson would have been heard from again in this sport. |
