In the Vicinity of tha damaged lands the grade of the Dry Ouloh Wash changes from a rather abrupt doaccnt to a ccmparativaly gentle one, and in consequence of the reduced velocity of the ratter, such matter as is carried in 3uapenaion~Is deposited in the form of silt. At the point where this wash -ssaa crossed by ths Port Duohean.* canal, the bed of the x?ash *aaa originally about eight foet below the bottom of tha flume, but at the present time, the silt deposited has filled in the old channel until the fl-ane is actually submerged. The submerging of thia flume has necessitated the abandonment of the lower end of the Port Duchesne Canal. * A3 early a a 1911, it vras clear that oor.e thing would have to be done to rsniady the situation, and a drain *.sas excavated through Sections 1 -and 2, T. 3 S., P___ 1 fi9f.
