I. 3,480,000 feet on Little West Branch of Wolf River, marked U. 5.3. 1,056,000 feet on West Branch of Wolf River, marked U. S.2. 3,606,830 feet below dam on South Branch of Ooonto River, marked U. 8.5. 2,281,170 feet above dam on South Branoh of Oconto River, marked U. 8.6. Separate bids ill be considered for each lot. The logs will be scaled by sworn scdelers, whose work oan be readily tested. Payment for the logs must be made within ten days after notiliaation of s, confir-mation of sale. No lags to be removed from the reservation uutil plaid for. Each bid to be considered must be sooompa.nied by a, certified check for 5 per cent of the amount of the bid [or as near that per cant as practicable to asoertdn) on some U. S. depository or solr~entn ational bank, drawn to the order of the under-signed as U. S. Indian agent. The bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders in the o5ce of tbe'Green Bay Agency, zt Keshanu, Wis., at 2 o'clock p. m. of Marah 15,1894. Awards will be made to the highest bidder or bidders, but no sale to be valid until sonfirmed by the honorable Commissioner of Indian Mairs and the honorable Seo-retary of the interior, who reserve the right to reject any or all bids, if to do sa i6 believed to be for the best intereat of the Iqdians. Checks of pa~t~iewah ose bids are not accepted will be returned to them after t h e sale hhas been consummated. If parties whoae hida are accepted fail to comply with the requirements of the Inllisn Department, in the purchase or pagment for said logs as sdvertiaed, their cheeks will be forfeited, and the logs awarded to the next bidder or bidders, or so resold, as may be deemed for the best interest of the Indians. March 22,1894, five bids received by Agent Savage for the logs were submitted to the Department with the following oflice letter: I have the honor to report that under authority granted by the Department, dated 26th ultimo, Xr. Thomas H. Savage, Agent, Green Bay Agency, Wis, advertised for sale the logs out and banked by the Menornonee Indians during the season 1893-'94, snd I now inclose the bids he has reoeived for pnrahase, riz: Per M,feet. No. 1, Pine Lumber Campmy, for all, 13,330,000feet ....... ...... $8.18 No. 2, Radford Brm. & Co., for all, 13,330,000 feet ...... .... .... 8.25 Fo. 3, Ooonto Company, for a pert, vis, 5,894,000 feet .... .... .... 9.60 No. 4, Hollister & McMillen, for 7,436,000 feet. .... .... ...... .... 7.00 No. 5, Hollister & McMillan, for all, 13,330,000 feet. .. ... .... .... 8.35 It will be observed that the bid of the Oconto Company, No. 3, for a part,viz, 6,894,000, at $9.60 per M feet, is the highest, and that bid No.5, of Hollister & MoMillan, of $8.35 per Mfeet,is the highest bid for all.
