" In just a short while the two of them were going to race It would be about a hal f an hour before the two cars would race down Main Street, and so I decided to go and have my photo taken. I had eaten most of the popcorn and so my hands and mouth were sticky. I leaned over an xrriQation ditch, was tied my hands and face a nd wiped them on the handkerchief in my pocket. Inside the photo studio there were three little girls waiting. Their mothers were combi ng thei r hai r by dippi ng the comb in a wash basin of water. Apparently the same water had been used for everyone, those who were there now and those who had been there earlier. The water had a dirty look. I decided I didn' t want my hair combed so I left my hat on for my picture. was handed a tablespoon, and an egg was placed on it. and egg and run to the goal line and back again. The one who gets back without breaking the egg wins. " I didn' t run, I walked deliberately, keeping my eyes on the egg. I was the winner and he gave me a five-cent piece. Hansen's candy story.
