Salt Lake City, Utah 84109 Dear Ar letta: The purpose of this letter is to clarify for you and other members of the Utah Federation the policy of the National Federation regarding membership in ERA coalitions. Ratification of ERA is the foremost legislative goal of the National Federation. We believe it has been proved that coalitions of organizations suppo rting ERA are a very effective means of securing ratification. There is nothing in the National Federation's bylaws or policies which would prevent BPW state federation or local club coalitions. participation in such ERA Indeed, the National Federation itself is a member of the National ERA· Ratification Council. TIle National Executi ve Committee has urged, of its recommendations for use of the ERA Ratification Fund, part support of state ERA coalitions. Most, if not all, of the BPW state as federations are full part icipat ing members of the ERA coalitions in their states.
