Show i & f prefent, tho' he cannot act until the faid Senior Warden I has once congregated the Lodge, or in his Abfence the Junior Warden. III. The Mafter of each particular Lodge, or one df 1 the Wardens, or iome other Brother by his Order, fhall keep a Book containing their By-Laws, the Names of their Members, with a Lift of all the Lodges in Town, and the ufual Times and Places of their forming, and all , their Traniactions that are proper to bt written. IV. N o Lodge fhall make more than five new Brethren atone Time, nor any M a n under the A g e of twen- ) tv five, who muft be a]io his o w n Mafter; unlefs by a DiVpenfation from the Grand Mafter or his Deputy. V. N o M a n can be made or admitted a Member of a particular Lodge, without previous Notice one Month | before given to the faid Lodge, in order to make Encpi-i| ry into the Reputation and Capacity of the Candidate ; unlefs by the Difpenfation aforeiaid. VI. But no M a n can be entred a Brother in any particular Lodge, or admitted to be a Member thereof, without the unanimous Confer! t of all the Members of that • Lodge then prefent when the Candidate is propos'd, and • their Content is formally ask'd by the Mafter j and they are to signify their Conjent or Dtffent in their own prudent Way, either virtually or in form, but with Unanimity : Nor is this inherent Privilege fubject to a Difpenfation, becaufe the Member* of \i particular Lodge are the best Judges of it -, and if a fractious Member mould be impos;d on them, it might ipoll their Harmony, or hinder their Freedom, or even break and diiperfc theLodgej which ought to be avoided by all good and true Brethren. . .
