Show 'Ihe Royal Birthright of Ananda Barnes I presl.lIYE everyone of us has drearred of being a royal prince or princess. 'Ihe dream is replaced by reality and we accept our lot as corrm:>ners in a denocratic society and strive to develop our talents and find our awn places in the sun. In genealogy, hunting for royal ancestry has a definite desirable objective for once one is located, the whole field opens up. While records of people were not known in early ti..rres, the kinship lines were carefully recorded and supplerrented by legends and · traditions passed on verbally. My personal genealogical research has been heightened by a desire to prove Joseph Smith's staterrent that our ancestorial lines and his awn lines were of corrnon ancestry. I did not doubt at all his staterrent, but I realized he-sopke from revelation,as pedigree charts were likely unknown to him and his family. Certainly they were to Willard and his. So as I dug into developing and proving family descent, I was constantly looking for an early breakthrough between ours and his Smith lines. · I did not find it. I am waiting for my turn to see the researched and proven lines in the newest biography of the Prophet, titled "Joseph Smith the First M:>:rnon, llby Donna Hill, published by Doubleday and Co. It is said by critics to be the rrost thoroughly docurrented and authenticated acoount yet published. In my awn searching, I ran into a line of Goodricks which joined Sir Francis Beding (rrodern) or earlier Bayldon or Baildons. 'Ihinking Ah ha! I've found a royal outlet, I avidly pursued Margaret G. and Sir Francis who according to John S. Wurtz, in Voll.lIYE 8 of his Magna Carta, were the parents of Sherrif Richard Goodricks who married a Mariel Eure, daughter of Wm, 2nd lord Eure. However, I was stymied when I found his family group sheet with all work completed for his wife Muriel Evans. A written book of their geographic area also sh<:Med this narre~ Closer reading led rre to think ari error had been made. Her grandrrother was Muriel Evans but there was no William, 2nd wrd Evans anywhere recorded. I tried calling the heir who had submitted the sheet and couldn't locate him by phone or . letter. tta,.,ever, rece..ntly I have located a note by Michael L. call, showing the error has been found and corrected -- Wureka! Everything is clear now for expansion throughout Europe and Asia Minor. I soon ran the line of Amanda Barnes back through 60 generations and on C.F.I. plus sorre 60 corrplete family group sheets going rrostly through Scandinavian royal lines. I reached Finn (born about 150 AD). From him through Archibald F. Bermets "Kinship of Families," accepted by Genealogists as correct, we follow 34 generations through Sarah, son of · Judah, son of Abraham covering a period of about 2,000 years. Running through him for 22 rrore generations follCMing the Scriptures Royal Line through Adam. Between Amanda Barnes and Adam are 116 generations. I discovered there are only two ways to get to Jacob and on back, one is through three established lines through Sarah, son of Ju:iah, and two lines leading to the second son Pharez are also delineated, making five in all. I have traced various ancestral lines through four of these five and twice on sorre. I am now working on the fifth, from Adam to Jacob covers 2,255 years. |
