Young's letterbooks give valuable insight into the thought of Brigham Young during the Utah War. Incoming correspondence contained several reports from the leaders of the White Mountain Expedition with details of the travels and discoveries. It was also useful in determining the type and accuracy of information reaching Young in 1857-58, on which many of his decisions were based. PUBLISHED BOOKS, ARTICLES, AND PAMPHLETS Anderson, Nels.
