I hereby issue an additional call to each of you to complete the canal and you are to consider this as your mission. Every man, woman and child in this camp may therefore consider himself in the direct employ of our Lord in seeing to it that this canal is completed. "I urge you to build houses and consider them as your permanent homes. 'Home' should no longer be considered to be in Utah, or Idaho or in other parts of Wyoming, but right here. Your presiding brethren are drawing up plans for a town, to be called Cowley, and another to be called Byron, after Bro. Bryon Sessions, your canal superintendent, and you will soon be able to exchange your stock for acres of land and homesites. The settlers were much encouraged by this and other talks that church officials gave to bolster the flagging strength of the group, and it was not long afterward that one of the marvelous works promised came to pass.
