At last, Mama and Papa came riding up in the wagon. It was travel ling slowly and there were just the two of them sitting up behind the horses. Nettie's heart beat wildly and she ran to greet them. "Mama! Papa! Where's Frank? Did you bring him home?" Nettie's glance searched for her favorite brother. "Yes, child, we've brought Frank home." And Nettie's eyes came to rest on the coffin in the back of the wagon. |
