Show /03 that all that man is, and most of his world, depends upon a process so delicate and so complicated, I tremble in awe. When I remember how often it works, I am worshipful. I feel I can take nothing for granted. A woman threatening to abort is sometimes given shots of female hormone, and I am not even surprised to learn that the source of that hormone is, or at least at one time was, that most masculine animal, the stallion. It is his testes which put out enormous quantities of female hormone, which is then strained out of his system by his kidneys and expelled in his urine. So that a new Mich«la..ngelo could depend upon a little horse piss. Or another Hitler. For sure a farm is not the place to keep your pride bright and shiny. I didn't find the outside world so hospitable to mine either, especially my sexual pride. Down on the farm once I used my piss to save a horse. Out on winter pasture rustling for her keep, one of our mares had somehow gotten one back leg over the lower strand of a barbed wire fence, t^w. sAupibdvt^i^f* it up and over, the mare had stood there a couple of days before we found her, moving her leg back and forth, the barbs slowly sawing her hoof off. A bit more time and we would have had to shoot her. We brought her to the barn and called the vet, who found nothing vital cut: he bandaged it and told us to keep her in a stall with her head tied so she couldn't turn around and with her teeth tear the bandage off. The cunning part of the bandage was the tube coming up out of it, where we were to insert a small funnel and pour down the medicine. But vets and medicine are expensive, and after the first bottle, the vet said that uric acid was the most impprtant part of it, so everybody in the family with a penis had to piss into a gallon jug, which Dad then carried out to the ranch and poured down that tube. The mare healed, lived a rich life, and probably got screwed by that jack. The trouble with cowboy movies and those prougd heroes, you don't see enough dust and horseshit.
