In anticipation of his being called into the WILLLMM CHRISTENSEN, ASSISTANT PURCHASING AGENT, GRANTED William Christensen, Assistant PurChasing Agent "LEAVE OF ABSENCE ' FOR DURATION OF THE WAR of absence for the duration of the war, armed~forces of the country in the near future, of the University, presented a request for a leave On motion of Regent Sill, seconded by Regent Shields_and carried, the request of Mr. Christensen was approvede .The Seeretary outlined to the Board a change in the payroll procedure made necessary by the Victory. Tax imposed by Congress on salaries, effective with the January 1943 paymenth He proposed the consolidation » of all payrolls issued from'the various funds intp one PAYROLL PROCEDURE TO BE REVISED DUEV Tb VICTORY TEX account and to open a Payroll Bank Account solely for this purposes It was also called to the Board's at- tention that at the present time, in conformity with State Law, salaries are paid semi-monthly; which proa-~ cedure entails a vast amount of werke The payroll procedure is also increased by numerous deductions such as annuity, retirement, hospitalization, health and accident insurance, UgE.A. welfare? and war bonds° A discussion followed during which it was suggested |
