The report of the Building Committee embodied in the following iresolution, on motion of Regent weds, seconded by Regent Ingebretsen, " was adopted by the Board on roll call vote, all members present voting ‘ days", Regent Ingebretsen stated that Dr. Gelligan had requested him to notify the Board that he approved of the Committee's report. EEEEhEElBE WHEREAS, a special committee consisting of ur. wade, Hr. , Thatcher, Mr; Ingebretsen, Dean Leary, end rresident Thomas reported .to your Board on November 4--efter an intensive studytof the authority ' of the University of Utah by Mr. Thatcher and Dean Leery--the con» I oluSions of the committee that the Board of Regents of_the University of Utah had legal authority_to borrow funds to finance a field house; ‘ and WHEREAS, after the presentation of the report of the committee, lit'was considered in some detail; likewise, the origin of the movement. for a field house was gone into fully and the need and purpose or such a structure was discussed. ‘Finelly, the question of a field house was referred to the Building Committee of the Board of Regents to prepare.4 ta report. In order to give the Building Committee time to prepare this report and likewise to give other members of the Board time for consider- ation of the project, the meeting was adjourned until Monday, Nbvember 7, at 10:50 a.m., and L \ , WHEREAS, the Building Committee has new reported and recommended the following action: ' I BE IT RESOLVED-- |
