Show Board of Regents University of Utah Ladies and Gentlemen: The Faculty Committee to which was referred for consideration at the regular meeting of the Board February ll,1938 the question of the retirement age of members of the staff, desires to recommend that the Board of Regents still retain the age or 65, as provided for by the Resolution adopted March 13, 1936, as the basic age for retirement of members of the teaching faculty with tenure, and that in exercising its right of discretion to retain faculty members in the service for teaching or research purposes from year to year, it be governed by the following amended regulations as to the maximum retiring age. (A) Thst members or the faculty employed for teaching or research purposes who have attained the right of tenure prior to the age of 65 and who will have attained the age of 70 on or before June 50, 1938, shall retire June 30, l938o (B) That members of the faculty employed for teaching or \ research purposes who have attained the right of tenure prior to the age of 65, when employed after the age of 65Tfrom year to year at the discretion of the Board of Regents for part or full time shall, until June 30,1940 retire at 70 years of age. Thereafter the/maximum.age of retirement shall be 68° (C) That the Board of Regents reserves the right to amend or change these provisions at any time.v Your Faculty Committee further recommends that arrangements be made by the University to pay Miss Maud May Bsbcock Thirty Dollars per month for such services at the Institution as the President may request, not to exceed a period of five years.
