The average municipal withdrawal requirement excluding reservoir evaporation was 280 gpcd. There were 63 municipal systems with an independent source of supply of which 31 (49%) utilized a groundwater source, 31 (49%) utilized a surface water source, and 1 (2%) utilized a combination ground-surface water source. There were at least 6 municipal systems which were dependent upon other municipal systems for their supply. Fifty-eight percent of the subregional municipal intake requirement was supplied by surface water sources. The remainder was supplied by groundwater. The number of municipal systems serving various population ranges is shown in Table 13.
