Show [4] (d) A permanent diversion dam across the Colorado River at the District's intake. 7. Detailed discussion and evaluation of the possible solutions has been confined to the two most economical solutions are contained in the appendixes. A comparison Discussions also include the costs of removing the temporary weir. Detailed discussions of all four possible solution are contained in the appendixes. A comparison of the costs of the pumping plant and the East Side Canal is tabulated below: Pumping Plant East Side Canal Initial Ultimate Initial Ultimate Conditions Conditions Conditions Conditions Total construction cost $855,075 $904,975 $5,069,419 $5,653,918 Annual payment (1) 66,047 93,358 157,235 182,848 Annual cost (2) 81,663 109,885 249,803 286,088 (1) Payment of construction costs over 40 years without interest, including operation and maintenance costs. (2) Payment of construction costs over 40 years with 3 percent interest, including operation and maintenance costs.
