Will you, please, send me an itemized account of the situation; how many teachers are there, the salary of each, who pays for each? How much do you expect me to raise, where do you get the balance, for** if* any? What is the present indebtedness of** for* the furnishing of the building, who pays for that and how? What more is necessary for furnishing and what thoughts have you towards raising it? Please, send me all these items so that I can intelligibly answer those that are interested. How much do you expect from the Board of College Aid? I was told in New York that the Board of Home Missions would give you $1000 upon condition that you raise another one thousand for Teacher's Salaries*. By your last letter to General Eaton I see that you expect me to raise $1000 for teachers salaries at the Institute.
