Show Salt Lake City Utah <br> 23 Oct 95 <br><br> My dear Dr. Jackson <br> Your news about the Mohawk Conference and Mr Concord were of special interest. <br> I wish I could write you some definite results here, but it has been watch, wait, work, and pray - not without hope but without definite results. At the synod I got a favorable impression of what the ministers and elders and their wives wanted and would try to do, also of the young men and women in their several localities who would desire college instruction; - the teachers of the schools were not in attendance. I looked into the Congregational Academy there, also the High School and some of lower grades. <br> I learned of some men of wealth who can be asked to give in Ogden. <br> The evening we reached this city, there was a meeting of the Sheldon Jackson College trustees, there was not a full attendance; the next week there was a meeting and a <br><br> [George EATON] <br><br> |
