Show THE CHURCH REVIEW.
PRESBYTERIAN.
VOL. 3. / SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH, JUNE 16, 1895. / No. 25.

FIRST PRESBYTERIAN.
Mr. and Mrs. F. W. Francis have changed their residence from 6th street to 344 E. 1st South. Mr. and Mrs. D. S. Taggart have removed from the Templeton to 74 Third street, to be reached by going up Canyon Road.
June is not only the month of roses and vernal beauty, but of "sweet girl graduates" who are far more interesting and attractive than the roses. And the "sweet girl's" graduating brother is also an interesting character. There would seem to be something lacking in the make up of the man or woman who is wholly indifferent, who feels no interest, no enthusiasm as he sees these groups of bright-faced, bright-minded young men and women going through their graduating exercises, and passing out, to active life, from the various educational institutions of the city, with the splendid buoyancy and hope of youth on their faces. We feel like invoking the blessing of God upon them all, and wishing them a most hearty God-speed, whether going forth from the Collegiate Institute or the Salt Lake College, the High School or the University.
Who among his old friends in the Collegiate Institute did not take pride in the most happy and appropriate address with which Superintendent Millspaugh sent away the graduates of the High school on Wednesday evening? Long may he enjoy his well earned success in bringing our city schools up to that high level which causes them to rank with the best in the country.
There were some sad partings the past week, among the members of the class of '95 in the Collegiate Institute, especially in the case of those who have had their home for some years on the Institute ground. The attachment to the "Girls Home" and those in charge of it had become very strong, so that it caused sadness to leave it. But that is one of the rewards secured by those who have the anxiety and toil of carrying on any educational institution or any department in it, namely, to so carry it on as to win the attachment and gratitude of the students connected with it.
How strange it is that many in the church do not seem to appreciate the merits of the Collegiate Institute, the thoroughness of its training, the wholesome Christian-influence that pervades it, and send their children elsewhere. On the other hand, many outside the Christian ranks have such a high appreciation of its advantages and success, they wouldn't think of sending their children to any other school, and have had children in the school constantly for ten or twelve years. With the increased facilities and attractiveness offered by the splendid new academy building, we expect to see a much higher appreciation of the school than ever.

Westminster.
Mrs. Glen and Mrs. Hurley have been appointed by the deacons to collect the pastor's salary and will give all the members a call, Friday, June 21st, and if handed to either of the above named ladies it will be much appreciated.
Don't forget the prayer meeting on Wednesday evening at 7:45.
The observance of Children's Day was the best we have ever had. There was a goodly attendance at the special sermon to the young ones in the forenoon and the exercises in the evening were beautiful. The piece "Feed my Lambs," by the primary class, was peculiarly interesting, but, many of the other parts of the service were equally fine. We had Dr. Silver and Mr. Weir representing the Sunday School Union with us.
July 7th will be communion Sunday. Those desiring to join the church on profession of faith or by letter, will please communicate with pastor or session.
The joint meeting of the Presbyterian Ladies Missionary Societies of this city, was held last Tuesday, at the 1st Presbyterian church. The proceedings were helpful and interesting, though the attendance was not as good as had been hoped.

|
