Mrs. Gilson has been quite sick too. <br> Let those who can pay for their Advocates do so as soon as you can, as the money must reach the publishing house by April 1st, in order for you to get the low rate. <br> I think the probationers have all received their Hand-books. Please make a careful study of them, that you may be able to stand a close examination upon their contents. <br> Our thanks are due to Bros. Miller and Hooper and Presiding Elder Mark [Mork] for help during the past week. <br> Our special meetings continue with great power, but they cannot last always, and those who desire the salvation of others will do well to "make hay while the sun shines" for the King's business requires haste. <br> Ladies Aid at the parsonage next Tuesday. <br> To whom have you spoken about his soul this week? <br> It will be profitable for the subscribers to the "Advocate" to pay the pastor soon as they can now, as he must send the money that it may reach the office by April 1st. He should owe it not later than March 23rd. <br><br> "No man has any trouble in pleasing God who loves his neighbor as himself." <br> "The man who walks with God must be careful how he steps." <br> "The life of Christ was God's love made visible." <br><br> FIRST CONGREGATIONAL <br> Strangers are requested to tarry at the close of the services, in order that an opportunity may be given the pastor and family, as well as members of the congregation to make their acquaintance. <br> The subject for discussion at the next mid-week prayer meeting is, "Must conversion be a special and conscience experience?" Mark 9:36-40. Romans 10:6-13. Can there be unconscious Christians? If so, can this unconsciousness be permanent? <br> Miss Fitzgerald will this evening lead the meeting of the Society of Christian Endeavor. The subject will be "Everything for God," Luke 14:25-33. <br> Mr. Brown will this evening deliver the sixth of the Sunday evening lectures. Subject, "Sir Harry Vane." <br><br> BURLINGTON CONGREGATIONAL. <br> Reading service at 7:30 tonight. Spread the notice. <br> Miss Hobert's class has the banner. How long can the girls keep it? <br> Read the notice in the young people's column of the C. E. convention at Ogden. Why not make up a party of ten or a dozen as we did two years ago and have Burlington well represented. <br> Word comes that Miss Hall is quite ill at her home in Rockford, Mass. We are praying for her speedy recovery. <br> Speaking of conventions, the international convention is not in the very far distant future and it is quite likely that the Burlington society will have a representative there in the person of Miss Fannie Hall. <br> Several families that have recently moved into the neighborhood have expressed a willingness to help in our work. We can use all comers for "the harvest truly is great but the laborers are few." <br><br> CENTRAL CHRISTIAN. <br> The Endeavor society decided to have Bro. Geo. F. Hall, of Decatur, Illinois, to deliver a lecture for them in the near future. Bro. Hall is a young man of great power and force. He preaches to a congregation of about 1400 people every week. There is a treat in store for our people and friends. <br> We are glad to announce that our collections for foreign missions on last Lord's day was the best we have ever taken up, it amounted to $28.72, but has been increased $1.00 since. We want to make it at least $30.00 before it leaves us. That means only 28 cents more. Who will give it? <br> We have been asked to start a Mission Sunday school in the West side of this city. We are now investigating the matter and if we can see our way clear to do so it will be done. Several have volunteered to go into this school as teachers. <br> Brother and Sister Leek have recently moved to 526 Bridgport street, which leaves 5th South just beyond 4th East. They are next door to Bro. and Sister Chaney. <br> Mrs. Rose Hospulhaum left on Monday last for Provo, where she will spend the next three or four months. We have, been greatly pleased with our sister since she came into the church about a year ago. We trust her stay in Provo will be profitable and pleasant. <br> Mrs. Elizabeth Yost who has been with us since October, and who has been sick for ten days or more, returned to her home in Eaton, Ohio, last Tuesday. Sister Yost is a most excellent woman, and she has our sincerest sympathy in her illness. <br> There was a fair attendance at the missionary reading on Tuesday night; and the interest was good. Let us improve both on the coming Tuesday. <br><br>
