Show THE CHURCH REVIEW.

PRESBYTERIAN.
VOL. 3. / SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH, MARCH 10, 1895. / No. 11.

FIRST PRESBYTERIAN.
"The Mission of the Seventy," What lessons has it for us? Luke 10:1-14, will be the subject for the prayer meeting next Wednesday evening. Let everyone come prepared to mention some one thing suggested by the passage and the subject.
Next Tuesday evening at 7:30 will be the time for the regular meeting of the Men's League. There is an interesting subject for discussion. All the members should plan to be present, since it is the-time for the election of officers and the appointment of committees.
Dr. Hunter having been laid up for six weeks, and getting steadily worse, instead of better, was removed on Wednesday to St. Mary's hospital, and placed under the care of Dr. Pinkerton.
Mr. O. F. Davis and family have removed from I street to Waterloo, on Water street, near its intersection with Fourth East between Tenth and Eleventh South. Mr. Davis thinks there's nothing like a three or four acre garden. The most of us are satisfied with a quarter of an acre, and even less if we have to work it. There is such a thing as getting too much gardening when one is a boy!
All the members of the church who would like to join the Senior Christian Endeavor society which is about to be organized in the church are requested to meet in the lecture room right after prayer-meeting Wednesday evening.
The regular monthly meeting of the Woman's Missionary society will be held in the lecture room at 2:30 on Tues., March 12. "The Older States," and "Schools in Alaska" are the topics. All the ladies of the church and congregation who are interested in missions are invited to come.
Among the first of the Men's Societies or Leagues which have become so popular and useful in the eastern churches was the one organized in the Presbyterian church of the Covenant in Chicago, by the pastor Dr. Breed, on November 28th, 1892. By bringing the men of the church into closer fellowship with each other and by taking up special church work of various kinds, the League in Dr. Breed's church became a very efficient factor in promoting the good influence and efficiency of the church. Not only the men who are already members of the League, but others who are members of the church and would like to be members of the League are invited to attend the meeting of the League on Tuesday evening at 7:30 in the Lecture room.
The popular mass meeting in behalf of Good Citizenship which is to be held Monday evening, Feb. 11th in the First M. E. church, ought to bring together a large audience. There will be three brief addresses by representative men, a number of two minute speeches and good music.

WESTMINSTER.
The North West Sunday school is now settling down to good steady work. The numbers are not so large as could be wished, but the attendance is more regular. There is a whisper of an entertainment there in the near future.
The "Conundrum Supper" was a very entertaining affair, and there was lots of fun, both in solving the riddles, and in finding out what the dishes were going to turn out. A respectable sum was added to the treasury, as the result of the work of the chairman of the Social committee and other willing helpers.
The Ladies missionary society will meet on Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 at the house of Mrs. Hansen West First South street, between Seventh and Eighth West.
The subject for prayer meeting next Wednesday evening will be "Praise the Lord." Read Psalm No 148. "Praise the Lord, both young men and maidens, old men and children." Teachers meeting immediately after.
At the business meeting of the Y. P. S. C. E. last Monday the new officers and committees were elected.
List of officers. President, Miss Bessie Eurgens; Vice president, Miss Ida Buhring; Recording secretary, Mr. Percy Havenor; Corresponding secretary, Dr. Jones; Treasurer, Miss Anna Reed; Director of music, Miss Louie Sibley.

|
