Show Interview: T ny Rodriguez Page 16 TR: N , I don't think hardly any at all that I know. GC: When y u came here, were there dances or anything like here, or was it about the same? TR: Well they used to have dances here at the Gemmell Club, I don't really remember how often, but me and my wife used to go once in awhile there, maybe about two times a year, thats about all. GC: What kind of music did they play? TR: I don~t really remember about that, just music. BM: Has it Mexican music? TR: No, no it wasn't Mexican music. I don't know what you would call the other. BM: Your children all attended school at Bingham? TR: Yeah. BM: And they graduated from Bingham High School? TR: Yeah, all of them. Let's see, about four or five, let's see was Betty, Andy, Ernie, Rudy a and this year will be Dorine. BM: And two of them went on to college? TR: Well, yes, Ernie went to college, Lillian went to college, but Ernie didn't finish college and Lillian is still thinking about going back to college again. BM: Did they get a scholarship or did you did they earn their money to get into college? TR: I think Lillian went on a scholarship, I am not sure, either that or a minority group or whatever you call it and Andy she went on that she went to school too, but she went for those IBM machines you see, that's what she's doing over here at Hercules, key-punch operator that's what she said Lillian is working there too she is secretary there. |
