Show INTERVIEW: Lopez Page 8 where all the other Chicanos are at. So what good would it do a leader to be that way, you know? It's not worth a darn. I know this happened in November, in New Mexico. We were supposed to, a task force, a nationwide task force, committees, you know, here and there, to work toward, with La Raza Unida. Well, they left in November there, I haven't heard from them since. That was the last, and nobpdy else has either. They're working up in the Texas area, but they forget about these other, where all these other Chicanos are at. And I think this is where it's wrong about having one leader. Chavez, for instance, you know he, it's a big job for him to spread out all over. And I don't know, maybe I'm wrong, like I say, the way I think, but I think it ought to be more than just one leader. I think locally people has more power, locally. But yet, when we get together to bring the ideas into one round table, and share with each and other, instead of each one of us trying to have my own little group ... I don't know, maybe it's wrong on that, but I mean I think it's the only way that we'll ever survive, I guess, or something, I don't know. C: Do you know, well, how many organizations are you aware of, you know, in your whole life, how many Chicano organizations. L: Oh gosh! It's quite a few of them. |
