THE CHURCH REVIEW. <br><br> SECOND M. E. CHURCH. <br> Ladies' Aid will meet at Mrs. Thos. Campbell's, Thursday 20th. All the ladies are urged to be present. <br> Cottage meeting Thursday evening, at Mrs. John Bettess, Second Avenue. The meeting last Tuesday was a blessed service to those present. Everybody come this week. <br> Prayer meeting Wednesday at the church, 7:30 p. m. <br> Ladies prayer meeting Friday afternoon at 3 o'clock, at Mrs. S. Allison's. <br> Eighty-two dollars have been subscribed for seats. There are eighteen left. <br> BAZAAR; One dollar buys ten tickets for the Bazaar, also ten lunches which the holder may, or may not, as he pleases eat himself. We make an early announcement in case * * * Conundrum: If each man buys ten tickets and eats one lunch how much will the ladies be ahead, (a-head)? <br> Brother George Dickey will lead the meeting at the Infirmary this afternoon. All go and help. <br> Jesse E. Jayne will preach at Murray tonight. <br> There are sixty dollars yet due on the old church property. If those who subscribed and took pledges on dedication day will meet their obligations we can pay off this old indebtedness before Easter. <br> The plan now is to dedicate the new church on Easter day. If all who have subscribed will pay their subscriptions and if all who have been expecting to give something at dedication will subscribe before-hand (do it now) we think we can dedicate without making any appeal for money at that time. We will take subscriptions on this condition, that no money be asked for at that time. Who will help carry out this scheme? <br><br> KINDERGARTEN NOTES. <br> It is impossible to think of the current growth of the kindergarten work, without realizing the seeding and sowing times, which have gone on in faith and perseverance during the last half century. The impulse given the work by pioneer sacrifice and struggle is making itself readable today to every passer-by. It is our sincere conviction that every kindergartner and teacher may work in the same spirit and by so doing seed the ground for the harvest of the next half century. It is a worthy ambition to become self-supporting; to have an occupation in life, and to be a successful teacher. It is a holier privilege to be dedicated to a progressive movement, to participate in initiatory struggles, to become buried in a work of service which may make itself felt in another generation. Remember that the influence of the mass of makers and agents is exerted against the leading article of its kind, and that inducements other than the intrinsic merits of the goods themselves are freely used to force the rule of a cheaper line.
