Show EALIZING the natural growth and demands of the University, The Chronicle has been published this year for the first time as "Utah's Live Collegiate Weekly." Differing from last year we did not hitch our wagon to a star, only to have the axle break, rather we chose a greater Utah as our aim. The future of the "Head of the Educational System" shines brighter with every flying moment and Utah will soon attain the time honored position now held by the great colleges. Whether The Chronicle has aided in bringing this about, is left for the future to proclaim.Instead of the usual little 7x9-inch booklet containing standard high school stories, jokes, and cuts, the size has been increased to 12x14 and filled with current news, written in modern newspaper style. This year's Chronicle has been exchanged with the leading colleges all over the United States, sent complimentary to clubs, Y. M. C. A.'s in this country and Europe, to all the secondary schools in Utah and many high schools in Colorado, Idaho, Wyoming, Montana Oregon, and Washington.Mediocre as this beginning has been, unsatisfactory as it is, may The Chronicle always be the student's exponent, the alumni's paper and Utah's first booster.( 190 ) |
