Show Saratoga
23 May 96

My dear Dr. Jackson
You see by telegrams the general course of events here.
The election of the moderately* a large majority seems to promote good feeling.
Business seems to move at a good rate and with little friction.
So far the Woman's Committee have come the nearest to the work in Utah. They had put down Edward for Alaska.
On Dr. Wishard's arrival I had a full conference with him and gave him the points which he needed specially to know. He is on the Home Missions Committee. Singularly enough the two men who have opposed the Board in Ills and Ind. are on the Committee, one is chairman.

*transcriber uncertain of word

|
