Show N. York City 2nd Jan. 96 <br><br> My dear Dr. Jackson: <br> I have learned today from Mrs. Pearson more than I have known before of the struggle to keep the Institute this year. We must give special attention to it before next Apr. I cannot see Mrs. James about Miss Perley till Tuesday: have an appointment to meet Mrs. Sage Monday and to speak to Dr. Van Dyke's Wed. Eve meeting. Five hundred dollars goes forward from Mrs. Dodge to Mr. Peyton Miss Magie hands me $50; saw Mr. Holliday, he says Mr. Trask is in Hartford. Dr. Field did not encourage reading matter, Dr. Stoddard did. Mr. Alexander says he is much interested and will take what we send for the M.
