Further Information In this letter to Robert McNiece, Sheldon Jackson reports on raised funds for a college and its teachers' salaries, and explains why contributions are scarce. These reasons include the scarcity of funds to be given in the first place and the prejudice against an academy, which Sheldon Jackson does not fully dwell on but does offer a solution. He suggests the college takes the academy as a preparatory school, for if the college does, as he was assured, then more donations will be made towards salaries. Sheldon Jackson then offers an example of a paid contributor who also is having a hard time earning funds due to the times, and then ends his letter by giving the dates he plans to visit with Robert McNiece.
