A d rem quod attinet , M i m o r u m nomen honer ftius quidem fuit , quam Planipedum : quemadmod u m oc Comoedorum honeftius, quam Hiftrionum. N a m herclè inter Mimos erant oc qui Ethologi au-diebant, quod mores hominum jocis, fed honeftis, exprimerent, atque fententiis etiam gravioribus con-dirent . Aft vero Planipedes humiliores erant Mimi , utpote qui «Se argumenta viliflìma , & tenuif-fìmas perfonas referrent. Adeoque Donatus in pro-leg. fuis ad Terentium, Planipedia, inquit, ditta ob bumilitatem argumenti ejus, ac vilitatem attorum, qui •non cotburno , aut focco utuntur in Scena , fed plana pede. Plano pede, hoc eft nudo, & prorfus excal-ceato, fi crcdeudum eft Senecae, qui Epift. 8. quantum , inquit, difertifjimorum verfuum inter Mimos jacetì Quam multa Publii non excalceatis , fed cotburnatis dicenda funt ? Ubi prò excalceatis Mimos intelligit. .
