Show 4 MR. J. LEWIS BONHOTE ON MAMMALS [Jan. 16, 1. On Mammals from South Johore and Singapore collected by Mr. C. B. Kloss. By J. LEWIS BONHOTE, M.A., F.L.S., F.Z.S. [Received December 7, 1905.] (Plate I.*) The following is an account of a small collection of mammals collected by Mr. C. B. Kloss in the southern part of Johore and the island of Singapore. From the latter place, which has been for long the emporium of that portion of the East, and from which many new species have been described, genuine wild collected ecimens are most welcome, and up to the present but few ecimens have been received from Johore. During the last few years several collections from the Malay Region have been received in both London and Washington, so that the number of novelties in the present collection is not so large as it might otherwise have been, but nevertheless, of the 17 species sent home, two are new and represent Mus ochraceiventer and M. ivhiteheadi of Borneo. In my former paper on Messrs. Annandale and Robinson's collection, the synonymy of the various species was brought up to date, and in the present paper reference is given only to those papers that have been published since.
