Volume XXXVII, No.4 Edmonton, Alberta, Canada July-August, Canadian BPW Asks Permanent Cotntnission On the Status of Women its Commission submission to The Royal the Status of Women in Canada on June 3, The Canadian Federa tion of Business and Professional Wom en's Clubs urged that a permanent com mission or board an ombudswoman on the status of women in Canada be constituted 1. to give leadership and encourage ment to women as they seek recog nition in new fields of endeavor; 2. to actively assist in the enforce ment of rights already achieved by women in the employment field, Making such - - as pay for on minimum wages and equal equal work; 3. to seek promotional for women; 4. to opportunities consider, or have considered, complaints of discrimination on the basis of sex alone. - Education is the key which ultimately opens all doors locked by prejudice, said the BPW. It acknowledged that university education for women is now considered socially desirable to the ex tent of a general arts degree but Members of the Canadian Federation deegation (facing the audience) present the BPW submission to the Royal Commission on the Status of Women in Canada.
