Show ME M0 RAN DUM February 24, 1994 TO: Roger FROM: Don SUBJECT: Grafton A few suggested items to be considered in Grafton pre-development project: 1. Bids for rehabilitating Grafton Church, supplied by either local contractor or consultant selected to do pre-dev project. The work plan I prepared is for minimal restoration; if more improvements are desired to rehab the church for use as visitor center, for example, significantly more work will need to be done to it. Bids should be adjusted accordingly. 2. Stabilization or rehabilitation recommendations for other existing structures and suggested uses, if other than as artifacts (minimal maintenance to maintain present "ghost town" condition). 3. Site development plan, including but not limited to: • • • • • traffic control and separation; tour bus vs. autos vs. cyclists vs. pedestrians. parking parking lot grading and drainage, if hard surface type and location of support structures; toilets, welcome center (concessions, site information, regional tourist information, etc.), caretaker or host accommodations, maintenance facilities, etc. interpretive information for site All site development should have minimum impact on existing features and respect integrity of resource. 4. Statement of probable cost for executing site development work. |
