Using the midpointofthis line to designate coordinates and elevation for the locality, this would be: Lehman Cave, Snake Range, Great Basin National Park, White Pine Co., Nevada 6715 ft 39.00729°N_ 114.21654°W 10’ precision WGS84 datum This trapline wasestablished along the northern edgeofa large, sagebrush dominated flat just east of the Lehman Cave Visitor Center and picnic area and that borders the pifion-juniper woodland to the immediate north. The area slopes very gently east, at probably no more than 5°. The soil here is the same sandy-loam as elsewhere through the area, with abundant small rocks (<2 cm), and a few larger ones (>10-20 cm) scattered on the surface. Vegetation consists of clumps of densely packed Big sagebrush (Artemisia tridentata), with a few mint of whatlooks like the genus Salvia, rubber rabbitbrush (Ericameria nauseosa), and mullein (Verbascum sp.) scattered throughout, along with larger patches of a short (<1 ft) green-stemmed herbaceous perennial with long, green alternating leaves |
