OCR Text 217 WILLIAM BUTLER For Complainant ( R. Vol. 3 - pp . 537- 540.) He is 67 years of age and resides at Farmington, New Mexico. He has lived at Farmington, New Mexico, since 1901. He has been down the San Juan River as far as the four corners. The flood of 1911 destroyed houses, crops and fences in the vicinity of Farmington. The San Juan River carries a great deal of silt and sand. To his knowledge the Indians have not used boats on the river and he has never known of any navigation on the San Juan River expect ferrying.
