Show 6. Benefit Determination Assumptions; 7. Local Cooperation Requirements: Local Sponsor Name: Central Utah Water Conservancy District The Central Utah Water Conservancy District, organized under the laws of the State of Utah, and particularly the Water Conservancy Act Section 73-9-1 et. seq., Utah Code Annotated, 1953 as amended, is the local sponsor of the Project. The District entered into a contract on December 28, 1965 (Contract No. 14-06-400-4236) to repay reimbursable construction costs allocated to irrigation and municipal and industrial water. The contract provides for block notices to be issued as project facilities are sufficiently complete to deliver water to beneficiaries. Two such block notices have been issued. Contracts for repayment of costs allocated to power will be executed as power facilities are completed. On September 25, 1965, the Central Utah Water Conservancy District, the Department of the Interior through the Bureau of Reclamation and the Bureau of Indian Affairs, and Ute Indian Tribe entered into a deferral agreement, whereby the Ute Indian Tribe agreed to limit land development in Duchesne area of the Bonneville Unit. The Tribe agreed to defer development of 15,242 acres of (Group 5) Indian owned land upon the condition that said lands would be included in the ultimate phase of the Central Utah Project. The Secretary of the Interior has fiduciary responsibility for the welfare of the Ute Indian Tribe. The Tribe has supported the Bonneville Unit to assure an orderly development of water resources for the Tribe through the Central Utah Project. Water for the Bonneville Unit is available through agreements made by the United States and the Ute Indian Tribe, |
