Sweazey,
Salt Lake City, Utah.

My dear Mr. Sweazey:-

Your financial statement, with account of free text books for the month, received. Please address these bills hereafter to me.

In the matter of free text books, we dislike very much to burden you with the care of that business, but there seems to be necessity for it. Some of our teachers have run up enormous bills. I do not know what they can do with so many books. They must be careful not to allow the books to be carried away from the schools nor destroyed. The only way to make sure of the proper care of the books is to hold the teachers personally responsible for the amount of books supplied to them, and have them render to your Committee an inventory, annually so as to account for any books that may be missing.

I should like to have your candid opinion as to the advisability of continuing this free text book business after the close of the present year.

Very sincerely yours,

Geo.
