Mch 6 1903 <br><br> Dr Sheldon Jackson <br> Washington DC <br><br> My Dear Dr. Jackson:- <br> I have your favor of 2nd inst., and in response thereto I enclose my check for $340. to order of Henry V. Van Pelt Treas. as instructed by you. This is Mrs. E.P. Seldon's* (of Erie) contribution of $200. and two other Erie ladies' gifts of $125. and $15. The names of the latter I will send you later as my wife has written Mrs. Diefeuderfer* for them. <br> I begin to think it would be as well for you to write Mr Pew (J. N. Pew 248 4th Ave Pittsburg) Thanking him for his gift as he has since given no sign of intending to do as he promised and I can't see that your letter can do any harm. In this letter to Sheldon Jackson, John L. Emerson sends a check including the contributions made by Mrs. E. P. Seldon and two other ladies from Erie, Pennsylvania. The donations are to be sent to Henry V. Van Pelt, treasurer of Westminster College of Salt Lake City, Utah. After these instructions, John L. Emmerson then suggests that Sheldon Jackson write and thank Mr. Pew for a promised donation he has yet to make. |
