Show THE CHURCH REVIEW.

Territorial S. S. Association.
Territorial Association Sabbath, last Sunday in September.
Consecration, cooperation, enthusiasm.
Last week I gave what I regard as the duties of the Sunday school teacher. Today I wish to add what I will call hints to the Sunday school teacher.
1. Study the art of teaching. Not everyone is cut out for teaching. There are teachers and "teachers." Learn how to teach.
2. Win the love of your scholars. How important this is. Never drive a scholar, but lead him. If he loves you, you can do this. 'You can do anything with a class that loves you.
3. Pray for and with each scholar. In your prayers name your scholars one by one. God honors such prayer.
4. Respect your scholars and they will respect you. If you command neither their love or respect, you had better resign at once. You can do them no good, but rather will keep them from the good.
5. Notice your scholars wherever you meet them. Never be near-sighted in religion. By this I mean, keep your eyes wide open in God's work and especially in this branch of it.
6. Be thoroughly in earnest. "What's worth doing at all is worth doing well." Put your whole soul in this work; as Mr. Bright so well said, "Be filled with the work" and
7. Be filled with the Holy Spirit.
8. Fill up every moment while in the class. Have no gaps. They distract from the interest even more than in a prayer meeting. They are awkward and cause the scholars to withdraw their attention.
9. Begin with prayer. Have you tried this? If not begin today. The heart is filled with a reverential spirit during prayer and is apt to remain so till the lesson period.
10. So from the closet to the class. If you do this you will not fail of a blessing. Let me add, go from your class to your closet and ask God to bless the truths you have brought before the class. Keep close to Jesus all the time, tell him what troubles you, what perplexes, what tempts you.
11. I need hardly say, show no partiality in the class. Have no favorites, or rather make all the class your favorites.
12. Bestow praise whenever due. If a scholar shows signs of having studied well, praise him. Indeed, thank him. It works well, I have tried it for years.
13. Aim at immediate conversion. Make the salvation of each member the great object of your teaching. As I have said before, talk with each one about his soul's salvation. You have no other object in teaching.
14. Convince your class that you believe all that you teach. How quick young scholars are to find out whether the teacher believes what he is talking about. Sorry that teacher, whose class does not trust him. He too had better resign, like the teacher who has lost the respect of the class.
E. V. S.

Sunday School Association.
All those who were present at the monthly meeting of the Salt Lake Sunday School Association, enjoyed it very much.
The subject for the evening was, Primary Work. Miss Baker, Mrs. Quay, Mrs. Hawkes and others took part in the presentation and discussion of the topic. Miss Gee and Miss Crisman sang a duet and Miss Crisman a solo.
So much interest was developed in this topic that the same will be continued at the next meeting which will be held in the Y. M. C. A. rooms, Monday evening, May 6th (tomorrow evening.) All those who are in any way interested in the Sunday school are cordially invited to be there.
The monthly meetings are destined to be of great value to the workers. Will you avail yourself of the opportunity, or will you let it go by? Will all superintendents please give notice in their schools and urge teachers and officers to go. All pastors are specially invited.
SECRETARY.
Salt Lake City.

THIRD PRESBYTERIAN.
Dr. Wishard preached last Sunday morning. He is always a very welcome visitor in our church. Arrangements are already being made for the observance of Children's Day in the Sunday school. Let it be made a day they will long remember.
At the recent meeting of the church and congregation it was voted to ask for the services of Mr. McClain another year for our mission church. There was not one dissenting voice. Mr. McClain is greatly beloved by his people.
We are all sorry to lose Miss Emma McClain who has gone East to attend school for three years.
The mother and aunt of Mrs. McClain, who have been visiting her for several months, have returned home.
Miss Edna Davis was elected treasurer of the Sunday school last week.
Salt Lake City.

"The consistent Christian is the best read gospel. Infidelity cannot answer a good life."
"The man who falls and picks himself up is entitled to a fresh footing."

|
