12 <br> THE CHURCH REVIEW. <br><br> Y. M. C. A. News. <br> Romig and Hawes. <br> The men's meeting today at 4 p. m. will be conducted by Evangelists Romig and Hawes. Every member and friend of the question should be present. 4 p. m., sharp. Some have learned from experience that on these special occasions it is well to be present promptly on time in order to secure a seat. Our quartette will assist in the music. <br><br> Special Attention. <br> We would like all male singers to be present at a little before four today and take seats in the front. Prof. Hawes is a great chorus leader and will use every singer that comes. <br> By the way, what did you think of the quartette last Sunday? Was you a little surprised? So was Mr. Axton. <br><br> Encouraging Signs <br> We are rejoiced at the spirit of revival that is abroad in our city. Successful meetings have recently been conducted in several of the smaller churches, the larger churches are affixing several attractive features to bring people within reach of the gospel and now two strong evangelists have been secured for a series of meetings at the Central Christian church. Great credit is due Mr. Clay and his people for the enterprise shown in securing Messrs. Romig and Hawes for these special meetings. Let all good people aid in keeping up the revival spirit. Mr. Romig will speak to men only at our rooms today. <br><br> Monday Nights. <br> Noting special tomorrow night, but look out for Monday, April 29th. Mock trial under the auspices of the Debating club. Call at the Association rooms and get particulars. Big time and everybody invited. <br> The following Monday will be Mutual Improvement Association night and if you get in you must come early. These Monday night affairs will be very popular. <br><br> Remenyi Concert. <br> About $60.00 went into our treasury. The entertainment was such as to satisfy all who attended. Special credit is due Messrs. Ricker, Wilson and Ingham for their efforts to make the concert a success. <br><br> Athletic Notes. <br> We are already looking forward to the time when another bicycle road race can be arranged. A large number of wheelmen are numbered among our members. A supply of cycling papers have been secured for the reading room. <br> Suits have been ordered for the baseball team and good games will be in order shortly. We wish we could announce that definite arrangements had been made for an athletic park. <br> The football boys are getting ready for the game at Butte. <br> Notwithstanding the outdoor attractions the attendance at gymnasium continues good. <br><br> ECHOES. <br> Noonday prayer meetings are not very well attended these days. Can't you drop in occasionally. <br> The service last Sunday was very, very interesting although there was not many present. <br> Let us fill the room today at 4 p. m. It requires only a little effort on the part of a few. Do your part. <br> Denver is called "flat" but the treasurer's book of the Young Men's Christian Association there these pretty subscriptions credited to individuals and they don't look very flat: One at $1,000, one at $500, six at $250, five at $250, one at $200, one at $150, one at $125, two at $100; two at $50. <br><br> W. Brown, Treasurer. <br> Place of meeting: The Lecture Room of the 1st Pres. church. <br> Time-2 p. m., Thursday. <br> PLEDGE. <br> "I hereby promise, God helping me, to abstain from all distilled, fermented and malt liquors, including wine, beer and cider, and to employ all proper means to discourage the use of, and traffic in, the same." <br><br> The Union was cheered on Thursday last by the coming of our Territorial President, Mrs. Martin, all the more welcome because our own president was kept at home by illness, but we hope to see her when next we meet. <br> There will be no parlor meeting this month. <br> An interesting paper was read by Mrs. Burner at the last month's meeting, on the relation existing between parents and marriageable children, which we hope to discuss at length on some other occasion. No one can estimate the good done by these quiet earnest talks. Let everyone try to bring all the friends she can to listen and learn. <br> MRS. HELEN A. WEBBER. <br><br> Missionary Union. <br> The annual meeting of the Territorial Woman's Missionary Union was held in Salt Lake City at the First Congregational church, Friday afternoon, April 5th, with one or more delegates present from each of the auxiliary societies. <br> The devotional exercises were conducted by Mrs. C. E. Allen and Mrs. L. E. Hall. <br> The reports of the delegates were very encouraging and promise much for this year's work in Utah and Idaho. <br> Three short addresses were listened to with marked interest; one on African missions by Mrs. C. E. Kenaston, another on Micronesian missions by Mrs. H. K. Warren <br><br>
