Show 55 Si Nations! Drought Mitigation Center Drought is a national issue . The period from 1999 to 2001 illustrates the spatial patterns of drought severity in the United States. Drought has occurred from Hawaii and Washington in the west to Florida and Maine in the east. The grayscale map is a composite of the other maps; it shows the number of years each area was affected by drought.
