May 6, 2002 Millard County Emergency Drought Declaration Anticipate continued adverse effects to agricultural producers, tourism, and culinary water needs in Millard County; Anticipate continued economic impact to county including declining prices for agricultura! products; Anticipate fire restrictions to be put into place as drought worsens; Anticipate limited fire fighting T Request assistance from USBoR, BLM, and USDA ( USPS, FSA, and RD) in water development; Request State coordinate with Congress and make State resources available to residents and businesses; Request State DCED meet with business owners and assist with loans, grants, etc. Request State Agriculture coordinate Federal assistance; Request State DNR assist with agricultural and culinary water wells; Request State DNR assist with fire fighting resources; Request State Wildlife Resources make reductions in wildlife numbers; Request State assistance with grazing permits on trust lands: Request State assistance in obtaining surplus property Request BLM and USFS assist with grazing permits and with culinary water systems/ projects, and firefighting and surplus fire equipment; Request FSA disaster assistance to farmers and ranchers including assistance for water wells and water projects; Request residents and visitors of Millard County prevent fires; Request ban on burning permits when conditions warrant; Request water conservation within county; Request patience with road conditions, Request County Emergency Services Director and LEPC function as County Drought Response Team. 10.
