Show - 5- O'N: And is he from over there or is he from over here? PD: Here. O'N: And did he go to school over there? PD: Yah, he x- Jas in school over there too. O'N: Is that x^ hen you met him? PD: No, he was in his teens when I was still young yet, you know, about seven or eight years old. O'N: Um hum. I see. Do you remember what year you moved from the Ute Mountain area over here to White Mesa? PD: Yah, it was almost forty years ago I think. O'N: So that x- yould have been about the time of World War II that you moved over here? PD: That x^ as a little after World War II. O'N: Just after World War II. PD: About, let's see, about two or three years after that. O'N: I see. And were you married to Mr. Dutchie then? PD: Yah. O'N: I see. And do you have children? PD: I've got two of my own and three adopted ones. O'N: I see. When you married Mr. Dutchie did he live all the time here or did he still live part of the time up in Allen Canyon? PD: I don't know. He was kind of the roaming type. He just went back and forth from here to there all the time on horseback. O'N: Did he have a farm? PD: I don't know about these people very much but you know the time when I moved they had farms, they had little gardens. |
