Show • 13- O'N: Goats? PD; I think there are probably two families have goats and sheep. O'N: Is that right, is that all? PD: That's right. O'N: Do you have goats and sheep? PD: No. O'N: I see. When you came over this way x- yere there many houses here on White Mesa? PD; No. O'N: How many? PD; None. O'N: None. PD: Um hum. O'N: So you came here before this little village was started, huh? PD: Yah, I came before that. O'N: Um hum. And where did you live when you first came over this way? Did you live out to Allen Canyon? PD; Yah, that first summer we came x- ye stayed just one month out in Allen Canyon and then xtfe went back to Towaoc. O'N: Um hum. PD: And the next year we came they told my husband that these people need help out here so they sent him over with a truck so he can do some work for them, whatever they ask why he might do it for them on the truck. Haul them around or whatever. O'N: Did the tribe own the truck? PD: Um hum. O'N: I see. So that was the help from the Ute Mountain Council, huh? |
