Show FORDHAM UNIVERSITY GRADUATE SCHOOL OF ARTS AND SCIENCES New York 58, N. Y. DEPARTMENT OF HISTORY 16 January 1950 Professor Aziz S. Atiya 100 Ave Farouk I, Ramleh, Alexandria, Egypt Dear Professor Atiya: The need of a definitive history of the Crusades has long been recognized by scholars and teachers the world over* The late Professor LaMonte was conscious of that need and, in consequence, had the foresight to organize such a project* His passing entails a personal and scholarly loss for all of us, and it is only proper that we complete the project which was most dear to him, and through him, to us* His death necessitates the reorganization of the Editorial Board which will be completed within the next few months. In the interests of the project, the Mediaeval Academy of America and the University of Pennsylvania Press, have appointed Professor O'Sullivan as interim-secretary for purposes of handling mail, etc* Correspondence should be addressed to Professor Jeremiah F. 0 *Sullivan, Dept* of History, Fordham University graduate School, Hew York 58, New York. The Mediaeval AcadenQr wishes me to convey to you most emphatically that the project is not dead and that publication of your chapters is assured* Please forward your completed material to the above address so that, if possible, it will arrive before the Fall of this year, 1950. Thanking you most cordially for your cooperation Sincerely yours, / Jeremiah F. 0*Sullivan, Secretary |
