Title |
1905 Chronicle Year Book of the University of Utah V.2 |
Note |
The University of Utah has made former and current yearbooks from various campus entities available in print and via its digital library archive. These documents contain facts and milestones about the history of the University of Utah. In some cases, these publications contain insensitive and offensive language and imagery that does not represent the views or values of the University of Utah. Insensitive and offensive portrayals of race and gender were wrong at the time these publications were originally printed, and they are wrong today. The yearbooks are presented as they were originally created and have not been edited or censored-to do otherwise would be the same as claiming these prejudices and biases never existed. - July 2019 |

Show U. of U. Chronicle Year Book 77 &fje Jftne girts Club EARIED by the monotony of bare, white walls and hallways #1% with no statuary, some energetic students of the school met VXx with Professor llyron Cummings in an upper room of the Library building more than a year ago, and organized the Fine Arts Club. The purpose of the organization was twofold-for it desired not only to place "fine art" in the University on a higher standard, but also to have established at the University a State"Fine Art Gallery and a State Archeological Museum. ft is the aim of this organization to adorn the walls and rooms of our institution with appropriate paintings, statues, and other ornaments. A man with half an eye can see that our University is sadly in need of these things and when our lifeless halls and bare, cold walls are adorned with paintings and statues, who will then say that the Fine Arts Club has not had a very important bearing on University affairs? |
