Show ftfje '06 Class ITH numbers decreased to less than fifty, but with jollity and perseverance enough to keep the faculty and school alive for at least two more years, the Juniors entered the University last September. Preparation for the year's work began immediately and the history of the achievements of the present Junior Class has established a high water mark in Juniordom at the University. Up to this year, the Engineers have had their separate organization and the Arts theirs, both acting as though they were in entire ignorance of one another's existence. During the Freshman year Roscoe Groo was president of the Engineers and Elbert Thomas was president of the Arts. In the Sophomore year Jeter Gardner was president of the Engineers and Dale Park was president of the Arts. The one organization was distinctly opposite and almost opposed to the other, and in no way were they connected. Their ideas were different, their purposes inharmonious. But, at the beginning of the present school year, a new life seemed to infuse all the Juniors. There semed to be everywhere manifested a feeling of good will, good fellowship, and affection for everyone who was worthy to be classed as an '06. The two organizations united-clasped hands in recognition of a common end, and formulated the present Junior Class. B. H. Perkins, an Engineer, was chosen president; Tom Seckels, also an Engineer, vice-president; and Ike Alexander, an Arts, was elected secretary and treasurer.
