To Indian Agents and other Officers in charge of Agencies: You are informed that the Amended Rules approved October 4,1902, for conveyance of inherited Indian lands, have been further amended, as follows : Bids will bo received for inherited Indian lands vip to 12 o'clock noon of tho upon which bids are advertised to he opened, at which houv they will he opened. Paragraph 5 of section 1 of the Amended Rules isamended in accordance herewith. You aro directed to cause to be inserted in the advertisements published by you concerning the sale of inherited Indian lands notice to tho clYoct that tho sealed envelopes containing bids should not have noted thereon descriptions of tho lands to which tho bids relate, but that there shall bo noted on such envelopes the dates upon which the same aro to bo opened. Yon will further notify all prospective bidders of tho change in tho Amended Rules as indicated in this paragraph, furnishing them with a copy of this circular letter. Paragraph G of section 1 of tho Amended Rules is amended in accordance herewith. Paragraph 8 of section 1 is amended to read as follows: Purchasers shall pay all costs of conveyancing, and, in addition thoroto, the following sum, to wit: If the pnrchaso price is £1,000 or less, ono dollar ; if it is moro than $1,000 and less than $2,000, one dollar and fifty cents ; and whero tho purchase price is moro than $3,000, two dollars; to bo used by tho Commissioner of Indian Affairs for giving due public notice, as hereinafter provided, that tho lands will bo sold. Paragraph 11 of section 1 is hereby amended by adding thereto tho following: A list of tho lands offered for sale will bo published in tho weokly odition of tho newspaper of widest, circulation in tho county in which such lands aro situated, such list, to be corrected ou Monday of each week, adding thoroto such other lands ns may havo boon listed and removing therefrom such lands as may havo boon sold during the prior week.
