Show / I 2 copy of such petition shall be immediately forwarded to the Commissioner of Indian Affairs by such agent or other officer in charge, who shall indorse thereon tho date tho samo was received by him and tho dale tho land described thoroin will bo listed for sale. Ho shall, on each Monday morning, post in a conspicuous place in his office in such largo letters and figures as will be clearly legible, for a period of ninety days, n list of tho lands described in tho petitions received by him during the week preceding each such Monday, showing in separato columns tho names of tho owners, tho descriptions of the lands, the dates when listed and the date when bids will be opened, and such list shall bo accessible to tho public at all times in business hours of the office. On each Monday the Indian agent or other officer in charge will forward to tho Commissioner of Indian Affairs a complete list of all lands posted in his office for sale. (•1) When any tract of laud has been so listed, tho Indian agent, or id hot- officer in charge, when competent from his general personal knowledge of tho value of tho land, shall visit, view, and appraise the samo at its truo valuo, according to his host judgment. If such agent or officer is not so competent, ho shall roquiro tho appraisement to bo made in like manner by tho most competent officer or employee under his charge. A certificate of said appraisement, signed by the person making it, shall bo sealed and not opened until tho sealed bids are opened. The appraisement shall not be made public, but no bid less than the appraised value shall bo considered. If the appraisement is made by other than the agent or officer in charge, such agent or officer shall add his certification of the qualifications and integrity of tho appraiser, and that he believes the appraisement to be the true value of the land. (5) Bids will be received by such agent, or other officer in charge, at. his offico for any land so listed at any timo beforo tho day on which the bids are opened. No bidder will bo permitted to include more than one allotment in any bid. If a prospective purchaser desires to bid on more than one allotment, ho must submit a separate bid for each allotment which ho desires to purchase, and if he wishes to purchase less than an entire allotment, he may submit a bid for one or more legal subdivisions of such allotment. (0) All such bids shall be inclosed in a sealed envelopo which must bo marked by the bidder "Bid for inherited land," and the legal description of the land must also bo written thereon by him. Each bid must bo accompanied by a duly certified chock on somo solvent, bank payable to tho Commissioner of Indian Affairs for the uso of the grantors, for 25 per cent of tho amount offered, as a guaranty for the faithful performance, by the bidder, of his proposition.
