Show COLLEGIATE LIFE

JUNIOR NOTES.
The girls of the Physics class (all being Juniors) passed a mid-term examination. Mr. Johns was greatly pleased as well as surprised. We all certainly were surprised and think it should be recorded as one of the great events in Collegiate history.
"Keep the good work up, girls."
We regret to say that Paul Martin, one of our Junior boys, has quit school.
Our class has been at a loss for a President, as Paul Martin, our former President, has left school. A class meeting was held to elect a President. Leslie Johnson was elected.
Roger Van Pelt and Frances Whittlesey had an interesting wrestling match during the fifth period one day last week. Miss Smith acted as referee. As the gong rang for the sixth period, Miss Paden in the capacity of the local police, stopped the exciting affair. The match was called a draw upon being stopped, although some think that Frances should have had the decision, as she had a finger-hold and an ear-lock. The match was over a picture of her "Heine."
We missed Mr. Sweazey from Bible class during his illness.

SOPHOMORE NOTES.
Miss Moore, wanting an excuse for reading her novel, kept James and Edwin in until after six o'clock one afternoon.
The Sophomore class have had two debates during the past couple of weeks. First, Resolved: That education will eliminate the race question. The affirmatives were Edwin Davis and Olive Wetterstrom. Negative, James Ashton and Frances Whittelsey. The debate proved to be very interesting, and was followed by a general discussion free to all.
The second, which took place a few days later, was held in the English class. The subject was: Resolved, That we should not outline Burke's Conciliation. The negative was victorious.
During Mr. Sweazey's absence Miss Moore taught the second year Bible class.
Olive Wetterstrom and James Ashton have expressed their intention to try out for the debates.
Andrews' smile is ever ready and never fails.
Miss Olive was reported as sick the other day, the burden of school evidently proving too heavy for her.

A pupil once gave his opinion of the study of Latin, in the following concise statement:
"Latin is a dead language. It killed the Romans, and now it is killing me."

COME DIG UP
THE GARDEN
BUY YOR [sic] TOOLS FROM THE
Granite Lumber & Hardware Co.
If You Don't Buy From Us, We Both Lose

|
