Show The Order of the Gleam HE Order of The Gleam is a literary society composed of forty women students of the University. It was organized with the help of Mr. L. L. Butler. Its aim is to promote good scholarship among women and to en- courage them in original work, especially writing. Membership in the Society is open to all earnest students who accept its constitution. Since the "Gleam'' draws its membership from all college grades and all departments, it affords better opportunities for wider acquaintanceship, and broader cultivation of mutual interests among women students, than has been usual heretofore at the University. Many well-written short stories, essays, and poems have been read at the weekly sessions of the "Gleam." At these meetings, Mrs. F. W. Reynolds and Mrs. A. Blaine Roberts have given helpful criticisms and suggestions. The officers of the Society for the first semester were Florence Farnsworth, president; Myrtle Decker, vice president; Eleanor Prout, secretary; and Thenia Chilcott, treasurer.
